The Mediterranean Diet
.
The “Mediterranean Diet” is a gastronomic model that takes into account the traditions from the countries of the Mediterranean basin, traditions that are linked to the produce found in the territory.
It is primarily based on the consumption of fruits, vegetables, legumes, carbohydrates (above all bread and pasta), fish rather than meat and the use of olive oil as the principle condiment.
The first mention of the “Mediterranean Diet” was in the 50′s, when Ancel Keys, an American scientist who lived in Cilento, noted the longevity and low rate of cardiovascular disease of the local population. A long-term study thus commenced to prove and determine the beneficial effects of this established diet.
.
Today it is an alimentary model known and appreciated throughout the world, which allows you to combine high nutritional value and quality to a wide variety of dishes, many of which are easy and quick to prepare.
So….. taste, variety, ease and good health!
